A poem - Defiance #39

Race Report - Defiance #39

Summer Race #5
August 6th, 2025

A poem to describe the night
On #39 'neath a smoky-toned sky,
Buster steered as the puffs passed them by.
Matt trimmed the main,
Kim trimmed jib and spin again,
Larry hauled halyards and brought in the kite,
While Zach kept the bow riding high.
The northeast breeze was faint but felt,
They battled on, their strength they dealt—
Though the breeze stayed quite slight,
They gave it their might—
But agreed, “We’ve had better,” with a sigh!
